Your child’s teachers will be sharing the details of their plans for feedback when school resumes after Spring Break. This practice helps us to give students an understanding of their level of mastery regarding the content that is being taught. A teacher may use Google Classroom, Power School and/or some other method to award students a “grade” for a particular assignment. While the grading and report cards will look different during this time, our teachers are committed to still providing students with meaningful feedback on the assignments that they submit. You are encouraged to contact us if you have specific questions about any of these policies and how they might impact your student’s report card. I would encourage every family to read the HCS Families COVID-19 FAQ Update 4/2/20 in order to review the method by which grades for the 3rd and 4th quarters will be determined. With this in mind, please consider your teacher’s instructions and lessons to be your guide as you navigate your work for the 4th quarter. Our teachers’ goal is to continue to provide SGC students with educational experiences that contain the gifted strategies that can enhance and accelerate the traditional curriculum. These lessons may be the same or similar to the Alternative Learning Plans that have been created by the school division. These students will use these packets along with instructions from their teachers to guide their learning.Īll of our teachers have been given the latitude to create their own lessons.
